Down vs. Synthetic

Jackets are often insulated with one of two primary materials: synthetic fibers or down. Synthetic insulation, crafted from various man-made fibers, is celebrated for its resilience and performance in wet conditions. Down insulation is made from the fine, fluffy undercoating found beneath the feathers of ducks and geese providing exceptional warmth and lightness. Click below to learn what’s best for you.

Sustainability

We’re not just about keeping you warm; we’re about keeping the planet cool. At the core of our technology is a relentless drive for innovation and sustainability. We started by revolutionizing the industry with the first recycled insulation in the 80s, and we haven’t stopped since. Our latest advancements include products crafted from 100% recycled fibers, ensuring you stay warm while helping the planet.

How It Works

  • Plastic bottles are part of our daily life, they are made of PET and after being used they can be recycled.
  • Used PET bottles are repurposed following standard recycling procedures
  • The PET flakes are melted and spun into new fibers.
  • The fibers are then used to produce the thermal insulation in cold weather jackets.
  • Every jacket insulated with Thermore® allows recycling of up to 10 bottles.
